Just to give everyone a heads up to save them some time. I have an 06 CTD with about 2,800 miles on it. It was making a clunking noise on the front passenger side. Well, of course this bothered me, a new truck already making clunking noises. Believe me, I checked over everything under that truck!!! I couldn't figure it out. So to make a long story short, took it to the dealership, told them of the problem. The tech, even heard this noise on the test drive. The dealership checked everything also. Then the coolant in the reservoir was taken out, low and behold that was the clunking noise. The coolant in the reservoir was sloshing around in there. The tech had me drive another 06 same as mine and it does the same thing. So the reservoir tank mounted on the firewall was the clunking noise, just the coolant sloshing around in there.

Well blow me down!!! I noticed my 06 doing that too at 200 mi, shrugged it off until I got a chance to drive it some more. Exactly what I heard on the passenger side when turning left especially into a driveway. That makes me laugh.-Frog
