Center dash Panel removal

Center dash Panel removal
Hey gang! Thanks for the info on the "Wait" light. I have another question I hope you can help me out with. On an 06, does anyone know how to remove the dash panel that surrounds the a/c and radio? I want to install my satellite radio and hide the wires, but I can't figure out how to remove the panel. On the 05s there was a screw right next to the trash bag hook, but on the 06s, no hook and no screw.
Thanks in advance for your help!
BTW, this is a great site. Someone over at DTO sent me over here.

CTD, I don't want to steal your thread, but was the screw for the bag holder the only screw/bolt that you need to remove in order to take out the center piece on an 05.? Also, does it just pop out using retainer clips?

Thanks for the info on how to get the center panel off on the 05 truck.
I have been thinking about mounting my brake controler in the pocket in the dash and want to run the wires from behind to make a nice clean look. Even though I havn't looked on how to remove the center panel I now know how and will make the task that much easier.
Thanks Again.
Hopfully someone comes on and gives you the information you need.

They are also a great place for Satellite radio receiver--if I can ever figure out how to get the dash panel off.

I figured it out! I thought I would go ahead and tell ya'll since there may be other 06 owners who want to install someting and need to remove the panel. There are 2 screws inside the top of the cupholder, near the lighter and power outlet. Take those out, and the rest just clips in place.
The knee bolster under the steering wheel comes out with 2 screws and three clips, much like the 05s. There is a clip by the p-brake release. The knee bolster now has a piece of sheet metal behind it that you now need to remove to get to that area.
The cupholders are fairly easy to remove as well. Pull the plastice piece off just below the cupholder. Fashion a wire hook. Hook it behind the shield behind the cupholders. close the cupholder, but not all the way, pull the shield and holder out together. There are 2 screws behind the shield, and 2 screws below the cupholders.
Once you figure it out, it is not much different from the 05s.

Yeah, I didn't actually read your last post until I already searched for the screws. Anyway it worked, I put my Sirius Sportster where the right side pocket was--I think it is where they put the passenger airbag shut off on regular cab trucks. I got all the wires hidden behind the panel so it looks clean. I put my Prodigy on the bottom of the knee bolster above the accelerator pedal. And, as soon as my wife returns with it, I will put my GPS right next to the a pillar on the windshield, with the power cord running down the pillar to a cig lighter plug I wired behind the dash.

You must be talking about a 2006 automatic. My 6M doesn't have cup holders in the dash near the cig and power outlets - my cupholders are down on the floor near where the sticks come up. My dash has three cubbyholes across its face, but none serve as cupholders. Sadly, none have dash-disassembly screws either, which is where I'd have expected them to be.
Anyone here removed the radio in a MANUAL transmission 2006? Thanks!

Yes, mine is an automatic. I think on the manuals you have to find a way to get the plastic insert that goes where the cupholder is out to get to the two screws that are holding the dash panel in. I don't really know since I don't have one, but that is where I would start.
