Sweet! Thanks for the link. I've found 3 sets, Two are take offs with less that 100 miles on them. One silver one chrome for $800. Seems a little steep to me. The other set is just the rims for $300. Maybe I can talk them down some or trade them mine. They are at a tire shop in houston.

Uh oh!

Hey guys, I was looking at the how-to on the hummer wheels and it looks like my center caps won't work.
The old caps had metal spring clips. My '07 has plastic clips.
Will it still work or will i need to find an older set of hubcaps??
Thanks, Hop

Yikes, looks like Dodge is getting cheaper by the minute

I dont think those would work too well at shaving them down, some people use two sets of nuts, small flat nuts, the the factory nuts on top, to secure the cap(without trimming, I think)

I think youll either have to McGyver some stuff there, or get the older caps with the metal prongs...

Those new caps should work just fine because they still grab the nuts. You will have to remove 7/8 inch from the cap itself. Make it more shallow. Then it should go on as with the metal clips. I like cutting the caps better than a double nut system because it saves getting another set of nut, it saves having to remove them to change tires and the caps set in 7/8 inch closer to the wheel.

Well, I'm off in the morning to have the h2's mounted and I may have to shop around for new caps.. I got quoted $33 a piece for stock caps. On the upside I got the chrome wheels off an '07 hummer mounted, balanced, and bored out for $650. So everything is ready to go, all i have to do is pick them up. Anyone in the Houston area that is looking for a deal on H2's gimme a shout. I know of 4-5 more take-offs at the same shop. I was looking at the stock caps i have and think they may not fit. There is a spring on the outside of the plastic clips that help holld them on. They do have a smaller "tabs" that won't need to be trimmed. I won't know for sure if they will work till the tires are mounted. I'd hate to cut the caps and have to buy a new one because these won't work.

They are on! The center caps worked, it was really easy to cut on a table saw. The black inner ring comes out and then all that's left is the outer shell. Tape it up and let it rip!
Now I need to have my spedo calibrated. Also what tire pressure are you guys running with this setup?
Thanks for all the help!

Looks great.

I looked at a bunch of aftermarket wheel and tire combos but couldn't find anything that had the right backspacing without spending $$$ on custom made ones.
I'm very happy with my Chrome H2's wheels and 315 tires.
I think they have the perfect offset.
I didn't have to cut my center caps, I had an extra set of lug nuts sitting around and just used 2 nuts per stud.

Speedo calibration took 2 minutes at the dealer, the tire revolution per mile on the BFG 315/70-17 is 601.
The tech at the dealership didn't have a clue of the revs per mile on the BFG's, luckily I wrote it down and had it with me.
He was so grateful he did the speedo recalibration for free.
My speedo reading is dead on accurate per my GPS.

I'm running 45psi on all 4 tires and they are wearing very even.

I called the dealer I bought the truck from and they said they didn't have the program to change it yet. I called a bigger dealer in houston and they want to charge me $80 to do it. I may just run it like it is for now.

Be patient and keep looking. $80 is ridiculous! Mine was done for free.

Many dealers or service writers don't have a clue about reseting the "pinion factor" and just tell you it can't be done or charge an hour for a two minute job.

I love my H2 wheels. Perfect offset, perfect fit, easy to get. bla, bla bla.....

Oh yeah, Smarty can also do it
