Question Camper shells (Toppers) Whats Good?

I am thinking about putting a camper shell on my truck. Can someone name some good quality campers that are well made. Would like to see some pics also.

I would think you'd be better off asking this question in the "Towing/Hauling section" There is alot of question in regards to camping there.

FYI, what t-boe posted is often referred to as a "cap" or "topper". A "camper" usually refers to a cabover unit that has the amenities of an RV (beds, slides, kitchen, etc), but in some regions "camper" is used as a synonym for "cap" or "topper".

They're called whatever you want to call them if people understand what you're talking about. It's a Leer 100XQ by the way. It's a little on the spendy side and more eye catching than functional. Since the back slopes down it makes the opening a little small.

Jason, Leer, both make nice ones. Biggest thing in my opinion would be what is available near you. Shipping can get pricey! There are several RV places near me that sell them and have them painted to match, or you can order them already painted and hope that the colors match!

I had a Unicover cap on my 2001 and I really liked it. It was the safari series. I have pics if you need to see it.

Im trying to decide if I want to dish out another $1500 to put one on the new truck. Might look at something cheaper this time. Might look into an aluminum one. Not sure yet. I really liked having the Unicover cap, but it was a pain to remove due to its weight.

Have a good one.
