Cabin air fiilter???

I keep seeing things about cabin air filters. The other day while getting my inspection the tech asked if I wanted my cabin air filter changed. I said NO. Sounded like a rip to me. Where would this filter be if there is one? Is it difficult to change or anything to even worry about?

Thanks for the quick response. I'm glad my wife didn't take it in. She would be telling me how I now have a new one.

Yeah, I wish we had one too. I leave my truck on recirculate in allergy season, and use a/c all the time and it helps.

Jeep sells a cabin filter kit for our Jeep Grand Cherokee, I bought and installed it last week. We need one for our trucks.

Geno's garage sells an add on kit. Don't know anything about them, just thought I'd throw it out there.

The ones Genos sells goes under the cowl cover (plastic part under the windshield where the wipers come out of). that is where the outside air is pulled in from.

I had a geno's kit on my 97 Dodge, it fit over the factory cowl, I didn't really like it. It looked bad, and fit kinda cheesy.

Do the ones for ours fit under the cowl? Anybody have some pictures of them mounted on our trucks?

I've got the Geno's cabin filter on my 05. It fits over the cowl and it does fit kinda cheesy. I don't mind how it looks, but I could see how someone could dislike the look too. As for how it works, it's hard to tell. I do wish there was a better, factory designed cabin filter on these trucks.

Does anyone know if just the replacement filter (instead of the full kit, e.g. both items from Geno's) can fit underneath the factory cowl? Or will the filter interfere with the other stuff ?

So what's the thing in the back of the cab, driver's side, between box and cab?

Looks like a filter, rattles like heck with the bass turned up.
