Cab noise from cross-winds

I've read a number of posts about the in-cab noises from cross winds for our trucks, but I've not seen an actual fix for it. I'm not talking about the TSB for the door seals (I don't think) because my door seals look perfect and they are not torn up. It's from the top of the door and mainly during high winds. It essentially pulls the top of the door away from the truck enough to allow the wind noise. If I use my fingers and pull the door back toward the truck it seals and the noise is gone.

I can feel on the roof/door area and the door actually sticks up about 1/8", giving it a lip that catches the wind.

What have you guys done to resolve this issue? Major PITA when a truck this expensive has a stupid issue like this. Same with the exhaust and oil smell in the cab at idle (nother issue, know the fixes...).

That just seems wrong on this truck. Okay, a '60's or '70's automobile sure, but not a new truck! LOL Thanks for the input though.

Make sure the window is down before bending the window frame just in case. It may bend easier than you think also, so go just a little at a time. Good luck

I had the same problem with my truck. I complained to the dealer they adjusted the door and fixed the problem. LOL I hope they used some adjusting screws and didnt go bending on the door. My seals looked just too.

Solved mine by running 3/4 wide 3/16 thick black foam weatherstrip around the door edges. Foam mates with the seal and NO NOISE.

Thought I was alone

I'm glad i'm not the only one with this problem. I've been wanting to take it to the dealer to get fixed but just do not have the time. Mine has been doing it since it was new.

Also, mine is only on the drivers side. Has anyone had this problem with the passenger side door?

Mike

You can adjust the little door catch on the middle area of the door jam. I pushed it inward very little on my 06 and it stopped the noise. It is two of those torx bit screws that hold it in place. 2 out of 4 doors were a little off and needed to be brought in a touch. Hope this helps. I love my CTD!!!

I've had this problem with my '01 and now my '03. Took my '01 in and they told me they fixed it by bending the upper door frame. I havn't taken my '03 in and may just do it myself. I have this problem with both front doors. Depending on the direction of the crosswind it will pull the left or right door enough to cause the wind noise. This is one of my biggest complaints with the fit and finish. I've looked at other brand trucks and their doors seem to seal much better.

I'm leaning toward doing this verses bending the door. If the wind would quit blowing enough out here I'll go outside and mess with it one of these days.
