Cab marker lights revisited

I went out yesterday with one of my spare lenses in hand to check a coworker's 06 dually to see if the new style are interchangeable with the earlier trucks, 03-05. They will interchange. Now for the problem. His truck is six weeks old and already two of the lenses have moisture drops in them. So much for the new ones being any better. Anyone considering ordering the cab marker lights needs to seriously reconsider. I have had nothing but bad luck with factory ones and aftermarket ones.

Pull them all off and run a bead of clear RTV around the holes then also put a bit of rtv in the screw holes on the lenses prior to putting the screws back in. I have had 0(knock on wood) leaks since doing this. The problem only happens when you go thru a car wash or get one of the lamps hit by a big ol bug or somthing. Then you can't stop them form leaking except doing what I did.
