IT is a law if over 80" you need the cab lights and the rear lights as with a trailer of the same size. I think the law said something like you needed 5 cab lights and the 3 rear lights. I will look for the NC/DOT law on it to be correct.
The real reason I got them is this: At night in the dark your truck will look like any other car or truck on the road and people will tend to pull out or cut you off but with the lights it can be seen better and looks like a larger truck and may keep someone from pulling out in front of you.
I feel better with them, cool or not it is what I want.
To those that don't like them or think it is BS to have them I'm sure I can find something on your truck I would feel the same way about but after age 16 most people are old enough to know people like different things and just because you don't, does not make it wrong.

I found a good one and she got me a new truck, but told me I would need to get the cab lights again so Yes they work for me.
