I've had a lot of trucks, Toyota (2), Mitsubishi(1), Ford (2),chevy (1) and my current 2003 CTD. I've had this truck going on four years and to date, it is the best one by far.

I have no brand loyalty. When I sold my 96, I looked at the D Max and the Dodge Cummins. I think I made the right choice. A week after purchase a friend called asking me to tow his trailer because his truck was out of service. He had an 8,000lb bumper pull going from Ohio through the mountains on 79 south and 68 east to Virginia. 6-7% grades at 55-60 mph...and I was being easy on it because it was still being broken in.
On the way home, my gf kept asking me why I was grinnin like an idiot. I was trailerless this time and climbing the grades at 70 mph and it never shifted once. I passed all sorts of gas powered trucks screamin and giving it all they had. My impression was that the D Max revved more like a gasser. Which is fine, but I kept wondering if I would have had the same result if I had gone Chevy. Im convinced I made the best choice.
Just my experience...
