Re:Busted Fog Light
On this truck I have gone the route of the ''3m '' film...although this is a different product and much heavier it does the same thing...i have it all over my front end including headlights and fog lights..so far no broken lenses and no rock chips...only cost 8 canadian bucks to do the fog lights ..i cant believe that these days they are dumb enough to put glass on the front of a truck with all the high tech ''non breakable'' lexans etc available..

Mine just broke
Well, time to bring this thread back from the dead. Tonight at about 29K miles my passenger side fog lamp shattered. You'd think these things would be stronger than that. I am skeptical about spending the $ for a replacement if it isn't going to last.

Dealer quoted something like $114 each... I took the advice of a member who replied to my thread on the same subject and got mine here:

About $75 with shipping. Install took 3 minutes, even came with a bulb. Once it was in, I can't tell it from the Hella, either by looks or light pattern and quality. Shipped promptly.
I now have 3M stoneguard on both, and haven't broken another one.

The lights are the same for both sides. Just flip 'em over. Heck, my wife's '03 Jeep Liberty uses the same lights. I put the 3M stone gard stuff on mine. Should have bought two sets and done hers at the same time. And NO, you don't take the bumper off to R&R the lights. No broken ones yet on either vehicle. Both have around 22K miles. Drive on a lot of gravel roads or where there is gravel spray out on the roads? You will break a lot of lights, windshields, etc.
