BULK Diff fluid color differences...
I made an interesting observation today..... I had to drain out my AMSOIL 75/140 today into a brand NEW CLEAN bucket ( THe bucket was blue plastic) ... so I could upgrade my Copper washer on the PML cover. The Fluid had been in my truck for about 1,000 miles. Drained all 5 qts ( I have the PML cover which adds one qt). I noticed that when the fluid is in BULK.. 5 quarts worth it is quite BROWN in color!!! If you dip it with your finger it is a very clean yellow ( Just like it went in brand new).. if you dip a piece of white paper in it, same deal.. clean as ever... I guess I have never seen gear lube in bulk before, just in the qt size... Anybody else notice the same thing? Or is it because it's 140? Thanks!
