Buffing Paint Scratches
My new truck has a few light scratches, nothing through to the paint. What are the best products to use to buff these out. Ive never done anything like this before, so looking for some tips. Can it be done by hand, or do I need a buffer?
Thanks!!

I use Meguiar's Fine-Cut, you can get it at a body shop supply store. Take your vehicle with you and they'll look at the scratches and tell you which level to get. I can't recall what level mine is, but it removes swirls, light scratches, road tar, paint transfer.
I claybar every 6 months, then use the Fine-Cut, Paint cleaner, then a layer of Carnuba and a layer of NXT.

If they're just in the clear coat then buff them out with a med to fine cut rubbing compound and a rotary polisher. Polish with polishing compound.
I use 3M products and would reccomend them. Med Cut compound and FInesse it Polish.
Use the right pads for the application.
Do not wet sand any scratches and do not use any pressure over corners at all.
If the buffer won't take the scratch out, leave it.
Clear coat is very thin, IMO on Dodges. I've done a fair amount of body work and my 01 Ram had the thinnest clear coat. Few swipes with 1000grit to remove a scratch and I was through the clear coat.
