brake lights on? Why?

Why are my brake lights on, even with the truck turned off.
FYI . I do not have my foot on the pedal. Also no codes.

Happened to me once on my 04. I Just pulled up on the pedal and they went out. Never happened again. It was in a real dusty situation, maybe that had something to do with it.

Same issue with my 06. Just put a piece of thicker single sided tape between the pedal and the switch. Worked great.

Scary. Had this happen to me yesterday. Jacked around with it for 15 minutes until my meager analyltical skills led me to the brake pedal.

Talking

Yea...I just happened to catch the fact that mine were on by luck , I never walk around the rear of my truck after backing it in the driveway.

Made me wonder just how long they were on , and how long other people thought I was riding my brakes

I check the everyday now

Check your cargo lamp button. I think the Brake lights come on with it also. Can't confirm, truck is still at the dealer for injectors.

Edit: Sorry, the 06's have a cargo light button instead of the ****, not familiar with the older except for 2002.
