Here's what sealed the deal for me. Because my 02 Chevy 1/2 ton didn't have a hitch, I borrowed my father's 03 QC 1/2 ton 2wd Dodge with a 4.7l gasser. I towed my blue car in my avatar on an 18' tandem axle flatbed car trailer from KC to Muskogeee OK. The car weighs 3950 and the trailer right at 1800.

By the time I was done I had averaged 7mpg and was white knuckle nervous the whole trip due to the lack of power, trailer control, and braking capability. I vowed to never be in that spot again. As soon as my dealer handed $12,000 in rebates to me I jumped on it.

Save the $4000 on the trade in or private sell hit, and buy a little neon to putt around in. Then you will never be short of muscle in the truck department.

Complement your CTD with a TDI VW Golf. That's what I did. 61mpg daily driver. And modded to run the high sulpher fuel

I am screwed twice I drive a diesel and the wife drive a Vette( premium only PLEASE)

at least I have a company truck that I don't have to pay for anything other than $3 a day on taxes ; 1500 chevy with V-6 not enough power to get out of it's own way much less hurt itself.

[QUOTE=scoggins;1313482]I am screwed twice I drive a diesel and the wife drive a Vette( premium only PLEASE)

I am in the same boat, high priced diesel and a Z28 that uses premium for the short trips. I have been looking to trade the 04 Dodge and sell the Z28 for a couple of months now. I am just not going to take that kind of hit on a truck with 22,000 miles on it. I will let it sit in the driveway before I do that. These dealers look at you like you have some sort of space machine when they see a regular cab truck. What happened to the days when a trauck was a truck?

My justification is a BMW F650 GSA Dual Sport motorcycle...clock 66 MPG on summer gas! If I feel like sluggin around I jump on the Fatboy which is suppose to get 49 MPG, but only clockin 35 MPG. Consider a bike, leave the cage at home!
