Bilstein shocks

Hello everyone,

Was wondering what people's experience with these shocks and stabilizer are? I'm looking at the 5100 series, but am open to suggestions. Also, any recommendations on where to buy? We have a new Lance 992 TC that we haul. I think it's time to upgrade.

Thanks for the input everyone! One other question I have, is the part number 24-185776 front shock correct? Bilsein's site says this one fits 0-2.5" lift. Our truck is bone-stock.

Thanks,
Chad

HDs?

Since your truck is bone stock, maybe you should go with the yellow/blue HDs, Geno's# BIL-24-186070, rather than the silver/black. It seems the latter would be better suited for mildly lifted trucks.

My truck is stock and I changed my shocks to HDs at 130k. The change was night and day. The stockers were probably totally toasted which accounts for some of the improved ride. One of my teenage daughters didn't care for the change and complained that "It didn't ride like a truck anymore."

I went with the 5100's originally because I planned on leveling the front sometime after I purchased shocks. Almost 4 years later the truck is still sitting on stock size rubber with no leveling kit. The 5100's work well, but the rears are a bit stiff. I read elsewhere that the HD shocks were too soft in the front with the diesel but the rears rode well. Do you notice any issues with the HD not controlling the front on big bumps? I was considering leaving the 5100 up front and swapping the rear to the HD.

Haven't had any problems at all. I ride over railroad tracks and speed bumps every day.
