Sorry. I need to remember my resolution. Too many great ideas and facts come out here.... I need to concentrate my focus there instead of nit-picking...

Thanks for keeping us on track Madhat

OK - some strong opinions. Now, what I would like to know, since the subject has been brought up, is the real truth about the tires touching. I have heard both sides, and I sure don't claim to know. Heard from my tire dealer, that it could be dangerous, that the ? spot where they were flexing at bottom and touching could cause extreme heat and blowout. I too know of a guy that hauled all the time in his dually with his tires touching, and wore the tires out with no problems. ??? Maybe its one of those things we can get away with most all the time, then occasionally have the failure? If I knew the answer, and risks, I may would just put 285's for my next tire and not use the spacer and 295/70

Are you asking if you can use the stock rims with that size of tire too?

A friend that owns a tire shop says his concern is the sidewall buldge and how they can flex at different rates when one tire is riding on a higher part of the road or when there is little to no space in between the tires and the ridge from trucks with duals is pushing up in between.
What width rim is suggested for that size of tire?

So basically if I run a 1.5 inch spacer then there will be no problem with touching?

^ no but I think youll have to cut your lugs off- I really think mine would run w/ no spacer, may try it @ next rotation-
Good point on the mud and snow pushing, that may explain why my truck was absolutely pitiful in the deep snow
