Battery Warranty???

Battery Warranty???
Does anybody know what the warranty is on the factory installed batteries??
Mine seems to barely crank over the way it should on cold mornings.
Truck has only been in service for 10 months.
Surely If they load test bad they should be repalced free of charge?

There are some items such as tires, brakes, etc excluded from the 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty. I would believe batteries would follow under the 3/36, although I 'm not a 100% sure you can check your owners manual for exclutions.
You could get some place such as a Autozone to load test them first before you take them to the dealership at least you would have the knowing of there condition before the dealership pulls the all so famous words well with in spec.

Hmmm, that could be Spooler. I just assumed they must be covered for longer than that because if you and buy a new battery at the Auto Parts Store it will be covered under more warranty than that (Like up to 5 years).
I'm not too worried about them freezing, I'm only talking down to 0F at the most and the truck always starts it just doesn't crank like it once did.

Yup....3/36. The wierd thing is, I've replaced them like 3 days before the 3/36 ran out, and they still are only warrantied for the next 3 days! I guess they are gonna get out of it one way or another. Same thing with an engine or tranny. Even though the part itself has a 12 mo/12000 mile warranty on it, if the part is relplaced under the 3/36, it's warranty only last until the end of the original 3/36. Kinda wierd. Hope that made sense!?! Went in a circle it seems!

When I worked for Dodge, we covered them under the bumper to bumper basic warranty, which was in most cases 3/36. The problem was that they will be replaced by Mopar replacement batteries, which are not as good as the factory ones. They like to barf acid out and corrode the connections, brackets etc. If I was you, I'd go and buy some decent batteries. Sometimes free isn't the best deal.

Right, I understand your point. But this is how warranty works.
Warranty says the Manufacturer will garuntee that a particular part will not fail on your truck for a period of say 36,000 miles or 36 months. WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. If it does fail in that period, they will replace said part at their cost. If said part fails, it does not mean that your warranty starts over and you are magically entitled to another 36 month or 36,000 mile period. The original warranty implies, your truck will be garrunteed against "Battery Failure" (pick a part, doesn't matter) for 36 months or 36,000 miles.

I know, it just blows that if I were to buy the part over the counter it would have a 12/12k warranty. I know where they are coming from as far as a warranty standpoint though. I didn't buy the part......they did! It would just be a nice added bonus if the part would continue it's warranty. You know.....it failed once, how much longer will the new one make it? I know we had the authority to "self authorize" repairs if certain conditions were met beyond the 3/36, and would sometimes if it seemed the right thing to do. The batery thing just struck a nerve. We had put one in a 3500 one time. The service manager ( in his infinite wisdom!) wouldn't replace both ( one tested in the acceptable range). 2 months later the 2nd one went and we had to use our "self authorization" to put it thru and 2 weeks later the first one replaced went bad as well! Dodge wouldn't put thru the replacement on the first one ( repeat Labor Operation ) and I had to explain all this to the customer! Like I said, I understand, I just opt to respectfully disagree with Dodge's warranty policy! That and $1.25 will get me a cup of cofee about anywhere too! LOL
