I still have stock batteries at 66k, and no signs of them going bad, but when they do, Im going to Napa legends as well.

My stickers were so weak at 75k that the radio amp would not turn on every other start. I went with the Napa top line, don't have the model handy, and they seem to work fine after 15k. The guy at the counter loaned me tools and gave me a hand swap then right there in the lot.

This year I bought a battery tester w/load testing from Napa, cost $50. I disconnected the batteries, cleaned the terminals while testing the batteries. Both of the truck batteries were good and identical indication. It was worth the piece of mind to me.

The tester will be helpfull with the dual batteries on the boat.

Consumer RFeports does a battery test article every couple of years or so. Sears, Interstate, and Autozone are usually in the top, and rated very close to each other. Optima is usually aroun 7-8. Although I seem to recall in the last test Optima had moved up into the top 5.

I usually got to Autozone. It's rated very close to the Diehard, but it's considerably cheaper. I'v never had one fail.

Living up north Interstates always did me well. Moving to the desert.....and having to baby sit the interstates, or most wet type batteries for that fact, I made the switch to AGM batts. First set was Mopar Pro 7's (exide). They just wore out after 6 years and my cable ends look like new. I'm going with Optima's this time around. I just can't get away from batts that stay looking like new with little to no attention.

My OEM's were going strong when I pulled then at 6 years.

I replaced them with Sears Platinum's and they are an amazing battery. You can really hear the extra CCA's when its cold. They are an Odyssey battery and one of the best you can buy.

110,000 here on the factory batteries. My ac blower motor not shutting off has drained them completely a couple times this year. but they have bounced back and are still going. Getting a little weak i think. but almost 8 years is awesome.

OREILLY'S, , CARQUEST AND NOW NAPA, are deka batteries now. They are flat and sealed on top with a oval hose barb on the end, they are very good conventional batteries and hose kits are available to hook on to that hose barb and vent the acid gas away to a spot it will do no damage leaving your cables and battery area clean and corrosion free.
