back-up lights

I noticed tonight when I was backing my truck in the driveway that every once in a while my back-up lights would go off then back on anyone else have this happen? If so what was the fix? thanks.

You don't say in your sig. what tranny you have. If it's the 6spd, others have had issues, the switch on the trans was the culprit.

Are These the White Reverse lights or Aftermarket reveres lights..If aftermarket look for corrosion in the plugs and check the ground...If it is the reverse lights try checking the fuse and make sure its succure..

They are the factory lights, they come on then all of a sudden they blink offf and back on. NO set pattern, just every now and then.

Seems to me it was the switch they were replacing.

Cool me too!

i also have the same problem. i have the six speed. i checked the wiring and everything checked out fine. i think the culprit might be that when putting it in reverse the stick linkage completes the reverse lights circuit. so i might have to make a trip to the dealer.

I have noticed that they work as long as you have your foot on the go pedal, but if you let off they will go out press the go pedal again and they come back on

It's the switch that senses when the tranny is in reverse. It will eventually stop working at all. 60 dollars from the dealer and 5 minutes under the truck.
