Question Auxilary Diesel tank for 3500 dually

Anyone have an under body fuel aux fuel tank in their 04-05 dually long bed?? Really don't have a lot of room in my bed for a tank. Always carring my race parts around. Looking for any web sites or No's. Would like at least an extra 30-50 gallons of additional fuel.

Thanks in advance

Let me know if you find one. It would be a nice feature, but I'm not sure there is enough space underneath.

There are replacement tanks available. One of them replaces your existing tank and is 56 gallons. Or you can remove your spare and add an additional tank which holds 38 gallons. http://www.transferflow.com/ is the website where I got this info.

Hope this helps.

I thought about putting a tank where the spare is...then I have to put the spare somewhere though.
It would be kinda cool doing that though...have one of those old flip down plate holders with the filler behind it.

OK this may not be that good of an idea for you guys but it made me think of a good story to tell. We all know this forum is about entertainment as well.

I was working with the Interstate Drug Task Force and confiscated a '98 Dodge 1 ton 4x4 in 2000. It had a compartment under the bed about 6 inches tall and covered the whole bed floor underneath. They had taken another bed and used the floor and six inches of the sides to create a false bottom in the bed. Then they put a body lift under the cab and front end to level it out. It was very well done. The only way I caught it was the panel in the rear under the tailgate looked way to tall.

Took the wheel well liner out and there was door in behind it. It was empty of the load of Cocaine but we seized the truck on grounds of the illegal compartment and the money the driver had from his load that was never contested and was kept by our Dept.

That compartment would be legal as a fuel tank and would hold several gallons............lol jim

Someone else posted on here about some wheel well saddle tanks that look like the tool boxes I have seen for these trucks. This would give you the entire bed floor. You could easily plumb two fender well tanks together. hmmmmm You would probably have to fill from both sides, which is easy at the truck stops. I wonder how many gallons they would hold?

I might do this as apposed to the 66 gallon slip tank I have now. If I can get 30-40 gallons per side...it might be worth it.

The company is TOUR BUDDY; Here is their address: http://www.tourbuddy.com/index.shtml
Each tank holds 11 gallons and they are sealled gravity fed tanks. Yes you will have to fill from both sides and there is no hookup to the fuel gage, your tank will gauge will always read what is in the main tank. They will keep the levelup on the main tank as it starts to go down to a certian level, no they will not over fill your main tank as long as you fill it first, then your aux tanks
The setuplooks good if you can always refuel form a truck stop with nossels on both sides.

I would have to have a much bigger tank on each side. LOL
I think I might talk to my buddy that built the tank I have now and see if I can get a couple in the 30-40 gallon range.

Two saddle tanks (one per side) could hold easily hold 50 gallons or more a side.
I could have them made with stainless for whomever is interested and has the $$$ to pay my cost in the shop.

I would love to get one of the replacement tanks in the 60 gal area.

But can someone explain why they are so dang expensive. Must run upwards of $800

I think I can keep stopping and filling for that price.

A big chunk of that $800 price tag is probably for the liability insurance.

Drop me a PM.

I have one here in town. I'll let it go cheap, but shipping will be silly. (over $100)
It's new, but out of the box.
