Question Aux. fuel tank and topper info

I've had a '92 D-350 for over 7 years but am planning on getting a 2003-2005 in the near future for more towing capacity and interior room. When I do, I'd like a few add-ons:

* Who has the best quality/deal on aluminum bed mounted aux. fuel tanks.
* Will 2nd generation toppers/bed caps fit 3rd generation trucks? ( I know my 1st gen. won't.)

Thanks

Don't know about the aux fuel tank, but the 2nd Gen toppers won't fit the 3rd Gen trucks; at least not properly anyway.

OK this is a little off the subject but not much.

I Have an ARE Topper that I really like so if you need a topper that is a good one and the paint matched the truck perfectly.

I also wanted to get an Aux Fuel Tank to go inside th bed with the topper on. I found a wrecked HONDA motorcycle at the re-builder lot of our local junkyard with a real small custom gas lid that looks just like MOPARs accessory Aluminum Gas Lid that are available from the dealer. It would look great to have the Mopar one replacing the stock one on the bedside and then have the Honda lid on the topper side to fill the tank through. jim

Thanks for the info.
Good news is that a Dodge dealer that helps me out has a source for toppers. So hopefully the cost of a new one won't sting too bad!

I checked into aux fuel tanks and it seems replacing the factory tank with a larger aftermarket unit was the cheapest route to more fuel capacity. They seem to mostly be around 56 gallons.

The wedge type in bed tanks or toolbox/tank combos are over $1,000. But they do have alot more capacity than a underbed replacement. With a wedge or toolbox tank, plus the factory tank your looking at 80-100+ gallons.

In my case I just want more range between fill-ups, I don't need a 6 month supply.

RDS makes a beautiful fuel/tool setup at $500. Check my member photos if you want to see one. 46 gallons plus the tool box. You can maybe get them to supply directly or you can get it from - - hhmmm, I think it is Northern Tools. Very good quality, baffled tank. My whole setup installed was less than $600.
