Re:Auto Locks

Well, would all you "they're not going to tell me what to do" types be acceptable to auto door locks if they auto unlocked when you set the gear shift to "park" (assuming an auto)? My GM Impala (you know, the one with the DRL's) does that and can set any number of doors that unlock. Please say "yes" or I'm going to be forced to add you to my list of Darwin Award nominees.

Sierra Phil, I understand all that and respect your opinion but I just don't want them locked, it's kind of like the whole seat belt issue. I have my friend Mr. Ruger 357mag. riding w/ me and if I want to lock all the doors all I need to do is push a button. I'm not trying to start an argument but don't want a computer telling me that I'm to stupid to know if I want the doors locked or not. If you like the feature leave it and if you don't then you can change it, that's why there are instructions in the owners manual to do so.

Sounds to me like you just don't like being told what to do. : Do what you want with the locks. It's your truck. Who cares what everyone else thinks about it. Doesn't make any sense to me why you wouldn't want them locked. There's not a single GOOD reason for not wanting them locked. But hey, if you don't want them locked then fix it so they won't lock. Personally, I like the idea of knowing that if I forget to lock my doors that some thug can't come open my back door and climb in the seat behind me putting a gun to my head. Your .357 wouldn't do much good in that situation....

That's my whole point! I don't want them locked, and everyone else can do what they want to with thier truck. DC made these trucks with the ability to un-do the feature for a reason. ???

Re:Auto Locks

Sorry guys, you won't be nominated for a Darwin award just by turning off your rolling door locks. The type of thing that might get you nominated is if your plan was to drive your truck off a cliff and jump out at the last minute but forgot that your truck automatically locked you in. That might get you nominated.
