To Anyone who has done the Foglight jumper wire Mod.
Hello everybody. I am looking to do the Foglight jumper mod to try and get a little more light when I go on my Hunting trips. If Anybody is confused about what Im talking about, "BUBBACTD" has a pic of what he did, Hey took a wire and jumped two relays together, to keep his foglights on with the highbeams too. To me, with Just the stock highbeams on, its still a dismal output of light, But when I go to pull the lever to turn the highbeams on, and hold the lever there for a few seconds to keep the fogs on too, thats a good enough output for me.
I am a city boy, , and dont need this all the time, so thats why I really dont want to spend the money on a bright box, or some other thing, to get the same effect, because I dont need this as an everyday mod.
My question is, If anybody has done this wire jumper mod, has anyone had any problems with it heating or burning up, or the relays blowing out if you use this mod for a decent period of time?? I am asking because I would like to do this, but dont want to be driving on a back road Upstate NY somewhere, and all of a sudden, POOF, something blows out, and I have nothing!!
Any help, info, or advice will be much appreciated!!

I did this mod over a year ago and have had no problems. I like the extra light but I also run PIAA bulbs as opposed to stock. Maybe consider a light bar for the front with a couple extra lights.....they make a huge difference to.

Thanks for letting me know your mod has worked with no problems. As far as geting a light bar and lights, thats exactly what I dont want to do, , that would mean more money, and changing the look of my truck.

It's the Bully Dog Tripple Dog. Find someone to let you borrow theirs. Have them return their truck to stock. Download the program on your truck. Set the high idle, the fog light and high beam feature, speed limiter, etc... on your truck. Once you've program all the features you want, return your truck back to stock. All the features will stay with the vehicle. No worries about doing any special wiring, splicing......

When you pull of the BDDL, you need to go in and set your vehicle options again. With that being said, you do not need to load the BD program to change the options. I just took off the program, then went in and set the vehicle options, including tire size adjustment...

The whole computer re-programming, and adding extra lights and stuff is way off of what I wanted to do. Im pretty much looking for a lil extra light, for a few days, and not having to take anything out of my pocket . Thats why I was interested in hearing about people who have done the jumper wire, pretty much my main concern was if the wire might of heated up, or shorted out the relays in any way.
Thanks for the reply's everybody.

No problems at all, if you decide to use high beam bulbs you will have to trim the locking tabs a little to get them to fit into the socket. The tabs are a little wider on high beam bulbs.
