Anyone Try One of These on an '03??
Saw this on Geno's and thought it might be an easy way to dress up the tail pipe a little bit. Anyone try them. I'm wondering how well they fit.

I don't like the severe slant cut on the OEM pipe....which is why I was looking for something else. I wish the '03 pipes looked like the 2nd Gen pipes.....then I'd be happy with it. The '03 pipes are too far back and too low for my liking....but I don't want to change the whole exhaust out so I thought I might try dressing it up a little....
I like to see them on other trucks before I buy them though...

Hoss,
Here is a shot of the Ghost from the rear. I have the downward curved tip - - trying to get the exhaust away from the fiver. It is very thick polished stainless - - fit so tight I had to pound it on with a wood mallet. I cut about 3" of pipe off before mounting. I have a side shot if you want to see it- - let me know. I don't remember the brand, but could find out if you are interested.

Yes Mr Hoss I got one.Got it from Genos. It was a very tight fit over the stock pipe so I did not use a clamp. And its still on.

Any way you could post a picture of it?? Did you have to cut any of the factoty pipe off? Does it stick out any further on the side of the truck or does it end about where the other one did??

I'd be interested in the side shot AND any more info you can tell me...including where you got it from. Did you tack weld it or just slide it on and let friction take care of the rest??

My personal thoughts on exhaust tips are that they are total rice mods. They look cheesy because you can tell they were tacked on, and see where the normal pipe meets the fake new tip. I think if you're gonna do exhaust, do the whole thing. Just my .02.

HOSS - I have one like you pictured on my '02 - got it from Genos - tight slip fit, not the slightest movement since it was put on, and the rear quarter of my truck stays nice and clean... Stiil looks great after a years use - I'd recommend them...

Hoss,
Here is a shot from the side. Shows the design pretty good. This unit had three (?) set screws in it - - I just tightened them down. I could not move it before I tightened them.
I purchased this at the Hitch House where I have found several items for the truck. If you like them let me know and I will call them for a brand name. It was not cheap but it is excellent quality. One reason I liked this design was that I cut my leg twice on the stock pipe and my sis-in-law cut hers once. She did not have nice things to say about my dumb truck. This tip will not cut you.

No I don't have a picture of it yet.Did not have to cut any of the factory pipe.It sticks out a little farther but very little. My bumper does not get black on it anymore.Very tight fit.

Do the whole thing in polished stainless steel?? I think not. : If we were talking about the big, chrome "coffee can" tips I'd fully agree with you. But we're just talking about chrome tips here. All it does is dress the truck up a little bit. The reason I want to see a picture is for the reason you mentioned....I want it to look GOOD....not like a cheap tack on.

Thanks Gary. I'd still like a picture of one on an '03 before I buy one though...
