Anyone have their seat warrantied?

I noticed a small rip in the back of the driver's seat from a part just under the material. I have to call the dealer and bring it in, but I was wondering if anyone has had DC fix their seats and what they did. I don't want them to just patch it, I don't think it would look good.

No experience with Dodge on seats, but my wife noticed a small gash (not even all the way through the seat fabric) in her 4runner seat about 1 hour after we bought the car. I was surprised but they actually replaced the whole seat cover and it looks just like it did from the factory.

I would think dodge would do the same in your case b/c it's probably harder to patch the seat (and have it look acceptable) than replace the cover. Then again, if the rip is at the seam, they might have someone who can patch it. Whatever the case is, don't accept it if you're not happy.

Good luck!

Yes and fixed w/o problems

I had a small hole where the stitching was separating in my drivers side seat.

They replaced the bottom of the seat and it has been fine. The leather looked a little different at first but blends in fine now.

Yes. No fabric/leather tear, I had major problems with the comfort of the seat. The seat compressed and I was sitting on the metal frame. No fun. I complained to the dealer a few times and he suggested I add some foam. So I did. I took it in to a local shop and had some after market foam added. This helped for about a year, then something came undone under the seat.

So, I complained again to the dealer and they ordered a complete spring/foam package and put it on under warranty. They even put the after-market foam back in under the new stuff. Much better. I would think a dealer would also replace the seat cover under warranty (unless it looks cut up with a knife or something).

If anyone is having comfort problems with their seat, I suggest they ask their dealer to replace the foam. It's still not the best most comfortable seat in the world, but it is much much better.

I had the same problem with my seat in my 06. I'm not a little fella and was sitting on the metal frame. I went to the fabric store and bought some foam and added to it but I still wasn't satisfied. I found what I call a 1/2 size pillow and stuck it in there and it was just right. My wife says to loose some weight. Naaaa, the pillow was easier.

Thanks guys. The rip is in the back of the seat, so maybe they will just replace the fabric and fix the piece that is portruding into my back. I think I will order some Wet Okole seat covers soon as well. Anyone have these?

I had an aftermarket Redwood Edition two-tone leather package on my 01 CTD. The driver seat got hammered after 42,000 miles and I had a 100,000 mile 7 year wrap around warranty so I made Dodge have the company who did the Redwood Editon replace the leather cover for the drivers seat. They did it no questions ask!

My 2005 had an issue with the driver's seat back. On the lower front area on both sides, some kind of metal bracket began to protrude thru the foam and eventually tore two slices on both sides of the cover.......the dealer ordered new seat cover and back cover, sent it out to a trim shop and had them install new, higher density foam and the covers under warranty. I have complained since this truck was new that the seats were the most uncomfortable I have ever had.....even my 1980 Datsun 310 had more comfortable seats than this truck......so far the seat seems better and I really don't feel the metal in the cushion or back.

I was parking in a driveway at a pretty steep uphill incline. I hit the parking brake with my left foot and my lower back pushed into the lumbar support and broke it. Dealer replaced the whole seat back, no problem......So, if there is an issue with a rip....

I have complained to the dealer since my truck was about a month old that i can feel the seat pan on the sides of my legs. They will do nothing about it; said that it is fine. I have considered a cushion, new aftermarket seats, additional padding, or finding a different dealer. I am not sure if they are responsible for seat comfort so i dont know how hard to push. It's not like I weigh 150lbs, but I'm not 300 either.

I'm 6' and 220 The metal bars under my hips/side of legs are a real PITA. After 30-45 minutes they start to really bother me. I can't even imagine a 12-20 hr trip. I have a 24 hr drive (each way) this summer and am trying to fix it before then.

I wonder if a gen 2 seat would fit? I LOVED my 1997 seat! The 2006 seats stink! grrrrrrrr
