Anyone disable the seatbelt dinger on 05?
I haven't been able to get the sequence right to disable the dinger per the users manual. So I took my truck to the dealer for an oil change and they said it was no longer possible on 05's.

I have an '05 and after 2,753 tries, I was successful. I sat in truck.....put seat belt on.......started truck.......waited for seatbelt light to go out.....and did the unhook-hook seatbelt exactly 3 times leaving it locked when finished....then turned off truck and it dinged at me. Now the dinger is off.....but the light stays on. I use my seatbelt, but I plow snow and sometimes I am in and out of truck and that dinger would have driven me nuts.

cut wires by floor mount & spliced them together.
always wear belt on base, but the belt tightens up so much on road trips, i like to take off & reposition. dinger was just too much.

Thanks guys. It worked exactly like you all described. I think the problem I had is the manual said to plug/unplug at LEAST 3 times in the specified time limit. I was stopping at 4. The magic number is 3..
Another confirmed load of crap from the dealer too.

It worked on my 05. It took a couple of tries but I followed the directions in the owners manual. If you bypass the switch or splice the wires you will disable the multistage airbag system.

It worked great for my wife and I,her 05 Durango and my 05 3500,I would have not disabled it,if it would have given me alittle more time before it started dinging.Getting in and out for a few seconds while backing and everytime I had to put my belt on or the thing would drive me nuts.
