If you put the hammer on weights only on the inside of the wheel so you don't see them you are changing the balance from dynamic to static and it is likely to death wobble. The add on weights must be where they are needed and called out by the dynamic balancer, not just out of sight on the back.

anybody have experience with these centramatics i'm almost considering this, although not much info on them.
just had new tires installed at discount, and in case nobody noticed the people that work there are IDIOTS, that treat you like crap, and do the job wrong so you have to go back to here try that and see othrewise come back and will fix it. 200 is worth keeping IDIOTS out of my life

Running the centramatics and they seem to be working great, truck drives smoother and straighter or a least it seems so. Like the fact they can stay with the truck, and any new tires I might buy. Pricey but the last set needed, got 70k miles so lots of life and many sets of tires to go.

I have been running balancing beads for my last 5 or 6 sets of tires. Probably should have gotten the centramatics, but have been really happy with the beads....

i use to run the silica sand beads, in larger tires, and i personally didn't like them. first off when you need to let air out the plug the valve core, so you pretty much have to remove the core. second, with filling up tires with compressed air, sometimes you get moisture or a bit of water in there, clumping the sand. i hear the beads are better design, but i still have a problem with them. you still need to take the stuff out of the tire, and when new tires are installed, you might not have enough, or too much, depending on size. centramatics, don't matter which tire size you get, or who puts it on, just get them installed, no balancing, and way you go. makes for midnight tire repairs a breeze.what are balancing beads worth??? the guy here that i bought my pro comps from said about 40 bucks a bag, or per tire??i would rather spend 200 now, and never spend it again.if you have problems with wheels, you will always know its not them, unless for so strange reason it broke, or you forgot to put it back on!!!!

Equal Powder Find the tire size. Mine was an "E" size bag. Ran it in my 285's on my old Chevy. Smoother than any weights. $5 a bag. Same as a balance job at most stores.

from my personal experience (and many conversations with commercial tire shops) the weights on the inside of the wheel are a joke and do not fully balance the wheel.
you need the weights on the rim, be it the inside, outiside, or both.
yes, the looks may bother some (not me) and I much prefer function over form...especially on a truck made to work.

Buy Nitto tires...
One of mine has no weight on it at all. If you picked through them you could find four perfect tires!!
This last trip was the first time I've felt comfortable driving at 95 mph in my truck. Nice road tires....

I always ask to have the weights put on the inside of the rim. I have never had anyone question why and I have never had any kind of issue because of this. I am having a couple tires mounted/balanced this weekend and will do the same again. I never heard of there being a difference between front or back. The machine tells them where to put it and they put it either on the front or the back at that spot and then they spin it again and it tells them if it's right or not. Good enough for me. I'm not driving a Cadillac....

I am not trying to call you out, but did you not post last week to a thread that mossyoak11 started about "Balancing". You stated, "i put beads in mine and works awesome !!!!!!!!!! i couldnt believe it worked so good". So I guess the beads do not work either for balancing? I am going through the same issue and I am just trying to get a better idea of what works and does not for future tires..
