any way to balance tires without stupid weights

is there any way to balance tires without the stupid clip on weights i hate the way they look on the outside of the rims. i want something that works good and isnt super expensive. has anyone used those stick on weights that go on the backside of the rim?

Well any amount of water/mud combo for prolonged periods kills the double-sided sticky tape on the inside wheel weights. They can balance wheels and put the outside weights (on edge of wheel under tire) on the inside of wheel facing suspension if you ask.... (static vs dynamic weighting they just have to be near the outside). I could be wrong? anybody else chime in? Or:
Option 2: who gives a **** about wheel weights on outside of the wheel, this isn't a ferrari.

I had sticky weights on my last tires, only had them for about 10,000 miles and no problems, didn't see any mud, but lots of snow caked on the inside of the rims many times. I have also had bead balance with no issues ever. I will not do weights on the outside, most fancy rims you can't even do it anyways, and I agree they look terrible.

My truck IS my Ferrari actually. No wait, it is BETTER

Their are two options other than hammer on weights or stick on centramatics look them up or balancing beads that go inside tires both work good I'm sure others will chime in.

centramatics work good, might be a little pricy for you, hammer on weights on the inside rim lip, and stick on weights close to the inside rim face, and you can cover the stick on weights with clear silicone to prevent them from getting water or mud under them and flying off.

I am using magnum plus balancing compound... work great............1800 569 8337 gets you the sales department, they will talk to you about what size to get, then hook you up with a local distributor. I paid 60 bux for the material shipped, and will never have to balance this set of tires again. well worth it, I was throwin weights like mad, no more !

If you want to get away from weights...

If you want to get away from weights...you need some kind of balancing bead.

The downside is every time you start up, the beads have to roll around inside the tire until they find the spot (where any imbalance stops). The upside is, no matter how much mud fills up your tread and wheel (and no matter when it flings off), your tire rebalances itself automatically.

A lot of "consumer" tire shops are not familiar with products like these. It is more common in the "commercial" tire business. They require a special valve, and are not recommended if you are airing up and down a lot (4WD traction tip #16).

If you decide to go this route, please post up and let us know about your experience.

I believe you'll be about $200 for a set of Centramatics for a 3/4 ton.

anybody have experience with these centramatics i'm almost considering this, although not much info on them.

just had new tires installed at discount, and in case nobody noticed the people that work there are IDIOTS, that treat you like crap, and do the job wrong so you have to go back to here try that and see othrewise come back and will fix it. 200 is worth keeping IDIOTS out of my life

i ran the centramatics and they work good, depending on what rim you use, they can be a tight fit between the caliper and rim. i ran after market rims with 4.5 back spacing and it was fine.whats nice about these is that you take them with you if you decide to sell the truck. every time you get new tires, your not paying for more balance beads or what ever you use. they claim to not balance the tires, but i did anyway. it can throw them off cause now they deal with improper balancing if not done right. and again like the beads, they keep changing with the tire. some people think that they are noisy, but i never heard mine, if you move real slow you can hear them, but once moving, noise is gone.

I run centramatics and love em couldnt get my mud terrains to balance any other way. Plus they have eliminated cupping on my tires. Super easy to put on just slide em over the lugs. Call centramatic and theyll hook you up for about 200 bucks. Wont ever have to balance a set of tires on my truck again. They say for best results to remove all wheel weights anyway.

If you put the hammer on weights only on the inside of the wheel so you don't see them you are changing the balance from dynamic to static and it is likely to death wobble. The add on weights must be where they are needed and called out by the dynamic balancer, not just out of sight on the back.
