air bags/springs
i have a 2003 2500 long bed crew cab. i just ordered some firestone air bags for the rear. has anyone taken some leafs out, or gotten softer rear springs to improve the empty ride? im getting tired of this bumpy ride when my truck is unloaded, since its my only vehicle. but i tow machines every day, so i need it. would softer springs be a bad idea even with the air bags?

You can get mini leafs from Carli Suspension to get rid of the rearend kick and hopping along w/ some Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. Since you have air bags, you can just jump up to full leafs for the best ride your going to get w/ a Dodge 3/4 truck.

I took the bottom OLs out of mine but the 2wds already have short travel and it needed that space back in there. So, I cut the ends off of the OLs before I put them back in. That helped the empty ride especially on the big dips and nasty RR crossings by eliminating the huge rebound from that OL spring. The bags are so versatile, I'm thinking of taking out the top OLs to get rid of some more useless, dead weight. Craig
