The reason I wanted to know soon is that I finally got my first TSB Recall for CO2 on the '03 and they will be Flashing the Computer anyway.
The next question is what effect will it have on my trucks performance and fuel mileage using the Canuck spec's? and will they do it because of US EPA compliance? Jim

Its NOT a REFLASH.Its just changing countrys to turn on another option.Like changing doors to lock at 15 mph or not etc.Affects nothing else on the truck. Can be switched back and forth etc with a DRB.Once they see how to do it it dosent even have to go into a bay.Plug in DRB and in a few seconds turn them on and off.We did them at NO CHARGE on the service drive(service writers did them)for lots of folks. Its not something they will do while doing a REFLASH of computer system.

Does this mean that there is a wiggle your nose/twist your left ear/ and stand on one foot process to turn them off and on like we do the door locks? It would really be nice to have the ability to turn them off & on. lol Jim

Thanks for all the replies.
I have an appointment for Monday AM. As expected the service rep did give me the "deer in the headlight look" but I told him what was posted on this site with regards to the DRB and that others have had it done. I guess he wasn't really convinced since he said "that may change your odometer from miles to kms" and that he'd talk to the shop foreman about it.
I hope there ducks are all in line by Monday at 0800 hours!

Went in for my appointment at 8 o'clock this morning and was back in my truck driving away, with DRLs on, at 8:20. 34 bucks with tax. I stood there and watched the tech make the change with the DRB and it seemed it was a 2-step process.
-first he enabled the DRL option under a customer preferences menu I believe
-then he changed the country code to Canada.
A click on the emerg brake shuts off the DRLs when it is idling.
Hope this helps anyone else interested.

Thanks Steve, I will print this and carry it with me to the dealer. Jim
