Accident this Morning- Poor, Poor FORD

Got rear ended on the way into work this morning. Stopped in traffic on Highway 87, and this guy didn't stop in time...on then on top of it...No INSURANCE! The CHP took my information, gave me the case number and sent me on my way...then started in on the other guy. Thank god no-one was hurt...

That really sucks man. You sure seem calm about your truck getting wrecked though.

What can ya do? Guess it comes with old age too.. Now if it was ?? years ago when I was in my twenties, I would not have been so calm. No-one was hurt, I have uninsured motorist coverage, the frame looks fine...and to think I almost got her waxed on Sunday!

What an idiot for driving without coverage. Does a person go the jail for that there?

Guys there is a big difference between the 1/2 ton and 3/4 or 1 ton trucks.

I had a 3/4 ford superduty and rear ended someone and my truck was hardly hurt and it totaled the car.

So don't think it is a ford thing but a light car/truck vs a much heaver truck.

From what I can find quickly on line, suppose to be working , $100 for a first offense going up to $500. The real kicker in impoundment of the vehicle and suspension of your drivers license.

AkitoSumo, it really sucks when you can see it coming and can't do anything about it but what happened to you is a good example of why we all should be driving defensively whenever possible. There was a report released a couple weeks ago here in Alabama. It stated that an estimated 1/3 of Alabama drivers are currently uninsured and that number was expected to continue to rise sharply do to the economy. Insurance will soon be a luxury item for allot of folks. Glad you're OK.

Sorry to hear about that! Ain't nothing wrong with being calm about it. Getting upset isn't gonna get you anywhere. A few weeks ago my girlfriend rear ended a car with my truck not ten minutes after taking it to a body shop for Geicos "Photo inspection". The insurance agent even laughed when I told her that. My girlfriend called me crying because she was so afraid that I would be furious.

Not only did I not care at the moment, I didn't even look at the damage for a few days. I also got it fixed at the body shop for 180 bucks, and the other car had 1300 in damage.

Exclamation That sucks

Shows what a Ford is made of. As for your uninsured motorist coverage good luck. I hope you have full coverage insurance. Uninsured motorist is for the case that someone is driving your vehicle and they are not on your auto policy, like letting a buddy drive your truck.. Your vehicle will have to be covered under your comp and collision. Your deductible will apply and depending on the company will more than likely affect your rates. The insurnace company will try to recoupe there losses from the other driver but you will still pay in the mean time. Sucks... but I hope it works out for you. Doesn't look like a whole lot of damage.. Other driver might need a beat down before it is over.
