Smile The AC. Normal noise?

It was 85 degrees in western Colorado today, so used the air conditioner for the first time this year. I noticed a fairly loud "clunk" sound each time I turned it on.

The truck has 19,000 miles and has been perfect since I bought it last July.

Is the "clunk" sound normal, or do I need Dodge to take a look?

Thanks for any opinions.

Mine has a clunk when I switch it from external draw to internal draw. I am pretty sure it is just the valve that dictates where the air is being drawn from.

The clunk is the compressor kicking on...they all do it.

Mine too, especially if the AC has not been used in a while.
