I wondered the same thing. ^^^^^^ I just purged the system a little than added one big can and 1/2- 3/4 of a smaller can. Bumped me up to 35 psi and 57 degrees.

Looking at the maintenance guide, I guess up to 50psi you should be ok. I wouldn't worry about it too much though Helmutt, I am sure they include a bit of safety factor in there-as long as you are blowing cold air and your compressor isn't making any crazy noises.

OK I give. Yesterday I bought a large can witht he gage on it and found the hook up for the AC line.... the problem is that the connector on the hose does not slide all the way down over the connection. How do you get it all the way down? If I hold the can right side up, I can hear the air but if I turn the can upside down it blows out around the fitting and the gets everything wet. Any ideas. I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 3500, the connection is on the left side of the truck between the radiatior and air filter box as you face the truck.

someone posted a chart showing correct pressure for ambient temps.
follow it for best results.

it's possible to get too much refrigerant in system. if AC system is leaking down, best to find source of leak.

please consider reading a few HOW TO's posted in lots of places on WWW.

^^^^^ Well cringe on, but most people on this forum like to do the work themselves, and following a chart usually gives you the best result, but if a mistake is already made, you usually need to make a judgement call as to what you are going to do to fix the issue.
