6.7 driving impressions?

Has anybody else besides Luke driven one of the new 6.7 liter trucks yet? I'm really curious how much the new 6 speed auto putrs the power to the ground!

EB290 has one. But remember, these are the chassis cabs with the Aisin 6 speeds that are out now. The new Orion 68RFE transmission is not out yet to my knowledge. Should be on sale after the first of the year.

I drove one yesterday. Very impressed. Might put the 6 speed manual out of business.

The motor was much quiter, truck rode rough, 6 speed auto worked great. 1st. was lower, 6th. was higher, about 1800 @ 70. I am really excited about the 6 speed auto. Motor was NOT sluggish.

Five years ago I was the most die hard manual transmission fan you could find. After having spent quite a few miles behind the wheel of the new 6.7/Aisin combo, I don't think I'd ever own another manual. An auto that can run and pull with or better than a manual, and has a longer warranty, is the way to go in my book. This is gonna be a hard engine and tranny combo to beat. It's that good.

Is it a bad thing if my diesel mechanic told me it was a 6.1L yesterday?

Lets make sure we are on the same page here. The Aisin is only available in the cab&chassis. In the pick-up it will be a Dodge made 6-speed auto. The transmission is going to be $1555 option. So about $555 more than a 48re, so just take the price of what a current truck with a 48re is and add another $500 or so and that should get you pretty close.

Sounds like you might need to find a new technician?

Production should start in about a month, right after they come back from Christmas and new years break. I should be able to order them any day.

Did you guys drive it enough to get an idea of highway fuel milage?

If so, please give details (what speed, 2wd or 4wd truck...).

Thanks in advance.
