5000 miles--on second set of marker lights!
I just had to have the dealer order the second set of lights for the roof in just over 5,000 miles. I am putting these ones on! Surely these can not be that dang delicate! If this continues, I may opt for an aftermarket set if they exist as this will get old and quick.

Yeah, what's wrong with your marker lights?
Will this be the 3rd set? (original and then 2 ordered sets)?
If they're leaking consider using some silicone caulk. If the 2nd set is leaking they probably stripped the screws and weren't able to tighten them down enough. Short, fat, stainless steel screws and silicone caulk!

I have replaced three cab marker lights due to leaking. I paid for them myself rather than taking it to the dealer. The first time two and one the second time. When I was replacing the latter one I noticed another with moisture in it. I dried it out with a hair dryer and used silicon to seal it. Only one out of the three replaced was cracked. I guess the factory should also use silicon due to the poor design.

They use either silicon or some clear plastic type of tape and put some silicon on the screws. The only problem is that once yo seal them up real tight then the lamp blows and yo have to start all over again
When you remove them yo may want to put some wax up there on the roof, it will help seal them up better.

Sorry--forgot to mention the actual problem--the lenses are all cracked. I walked the line and both new and used ones on the lot had them to varying degrees on the lot. You might want to keep an eye on them over time.

So when looking for a new truck, i should look at the marker lights tosee if they are cracked? And if so, have them replace the lights before I buy it?
thanks!!!! this is the kind of info you need when you ask the question "what should i look for when buying a new truck" lol.....

OK, mine might have some cracks in them but they don't leak (knock on wood ) so I really don't care because they all light up and yo can't see the cracks unless you get on top of the truck and look real close
