4" aftermarket HID lights in stock 2005 bumper ??

I am looking at some 4" (round) HID offroad driving lights that I would like to mount in my bumper instead of the stock fog lights. Has anybody else done this? Happy with the results? Got pic's of your installation and associated mounting brackets?
Thanx
-Mark

I just ordered my Bull Bar with PIAA 510 extreme white driving lights. I was also thinking of doing what you are doing but I wanted my lights higher for greater distance. Still good luck and I would like to see some pics.

i first tried a hid kit in my head lights and did not like it . bought projector from Toyota acord tl and did it the correct way. the first kit used the 1006 hid , the same as the oem fog halogen i plugged them in and tried them out , i liked them enough i mounted the ballast permanently used individual switches for fog and headlights and not truck wiring

The HID lights arrived this afternoon and they are a perfect fit in the holes in my bumper! They are very VERY bright... my stock foglights are dim by comparison, and I was already using the Fogzilla kit with 9005 bulbs!
Hopefully I can fabricate the brackets tomorrow and get the lights installed in the next day or two. Will post pic's soon.

Which one did you get? Can you post the URL? I would like to do the same thing to the fog lamp and maybe later on the headlights. Is it a direct plug in? Take some pics on the install and post them.

Ok, here are some pics of my install. It was quick and easy and I am very VERY happy with the light output and beam pattern. The only change I am going to make its to re-paint the red aluminum trim ring black...
Enjoy,
-Mark

The HID lights I used are made by "Custom Accessories"

I bought 4" to use as fog lights and 7" for off-road lights (photos of that install coming soon)

I machined this little bracket to mount the light in the stock mounting location.

I also had to rotate the reflector 90° inside its plastic housing.

This is how the light fits in the stock fog light location.
I used a stack of washers to get the mounting height dialed in,
then I machined solid stand-offs to replace the washers.
The two small holes in my steel bracket were used to match-drill
holes for 6-32 flat head screws that thread into the aluminum mount
on the foglight. This will prevent the light from ever rotating on the bracket.

The overall fit of the light is excellent, but that red trim-ring has got to go!

I think that night shots of headlights are completely lame because digital photos don't represent relative brightness very well...
Anyway, here's one taken with the camera-flash turned off.
New HID on the left, stock foglight (9005 bulb) on the right.

Here's another pic' but this time with the camera-flash on.
