You are the one missing the point. I did not want to use the stock to skinny wheel. What a waste of a forum...

The original question posted by the poster was asking about fitting 37" tires and did not mention that he wanted to change to aftermarket wheels. Isn't that the point?

I doubt that he cares that you feel the stock wheels are too skinny, he just wanted to know if he could run a 37" tire.

Talking I spoke with Kent at T.REX two days ago.

I contacted T.Rex engineering regaurding there system two days ago. I simply asked how 35s or 315's would fit My 3500 with the T.Rex system, He says that the Black project truck had 37's! Woah. The idiots the 4 wheel parts claim I need a 6 in skyjacker lift to fit 37s. Kent recommends 35's on his system.

He also recommends the you use the proper backspace wheel (45mm backspace) and tack weld a 1/8 thick
piece of steel to the steering knuckel to
eleminate the rubbing at full lock.

He also mentioned that the front edge of the rear fender needs to be trimed for 37s if you plan on serious off roading.

Weld wheels are in the process of starting production of 8 lug wheels for our trucks with the proper backspacing. If all goes well these wheels will be avalible in about 2 months. I'm gonna wait myself.

Those idoits you are refering too are right...you DO need a 6" lift if you don't want to trim fenders and limit the steering travel.

Opinions differ on what "fits". I feel that hacking away on your truck's fenders and limiting the steering 10-15% is not fitting...
If the tire is that close, it will hit a bunch of stuff if your truck ever gets used offroad, but maybe that is not your intent.

I agree that you can't consider the 37" to fit given they trimmed their rear fender. Realize however they had ZERO lift in the rear and it was 2500 truck. Limiting the steering a small amount isn't a big deal to me but I would prefer not to of course.

No one on this planet causes more suspension travel than the guys at T-rex, they are at the limits of the suspension system.

I've been thinking about this whole T-Rex idea and throwing a 2" add-a-leaf or 2"block to run 37's isn't a big deal. By the sounds of it, if you break your suspension and the truck still works they'll fix it, seems like I could wheel pretty hard without worrying about driving home. The guys from the TDR that, they gave a ride to were sure impressed.

I like the idea of T.Rex suspension or a leveling (2.5") kit with a minor rear 1 to 1 1/2" rear lift.
I realize that the truck won't be level again but the 37's will probably work without the dreaded
triming and the mods to the steering stops. the 1/8" tabs on the steering stops is not going to change the steering radius any noticable amount but It will keep a 35 from rubbing. People generally dont like the idea of modifieying a parts when they can just bolt on some thing from the aftermarket. I haven't found out how much the fenders would cost the be worked out properly but the welding and 1/8" tabs will be peanuts. A 6in lift is gonna be big bucks and seriously compromise the truck engineering teams intentions for our trucks.

The biggest reason I probaly wont go to 37's is gearing. If I go on a long trip and deside to pull a trailer Id like to run My stock wheels and tires. I dont wanna have to re gear the diffs every time I do this. My truck currently has 3.73s but that will certianly change if I go 37's.

We just gotta mess with these trucks don't we?

That mock up of cquestad really sells me on not going 37's. Kent from T.Rex also recommends the 35's because the increased unsprung weight is hard to control with the shocks. The gearing still remains the deal breaker for me. I suppose it's doable but a lot of trouble unless you lift the truck to tippy canoe highths.
