Yeah, whaddayagonnado? Read my post in the "Dodge dealer screwed me" thread and you'll know why I now have a Chev instead.
All things the same, I'd still get a Dodge in a heartbeat. Just came across a real good deal on the DMax about 2 weeks after the Mega cab incident. That Chevy's been real good to me so far, so I guess the next Dodge is a few years off!
If it helps, my Chev has Dodge rims!

Nibroc, I was j/k too.

Since the front driveshaft is still spinning and the front axle is still turning, wouldn't the two different tire sizes screw it up anyway, even if the t/c wasn't engaged?

I.E. - the two axles are turning at different speeds...

Just my two cents....

if 4X4 is not engaged, would it matter if one axle is turning at a different speed? as to why, I'd like taller gearing and don't want big tires up front. what the hell is j/k?

Don't do it. If your in 2wd it won't hurt since the the front is disconnected. When you put it in 4wd your axles will be turning at different speeds. Your transfer case isn't a limited slip, it's connected with chains and gears that will snap if you do that on pavement. It's like running 4.10's in the front and 3.73's in the rear.

Even though, I wouldnt do it, If just by mistake you hit the 4x4 button it will mess things up. And I am not too sure it is even good when it isnt locked up. The front end is still moving, and it could wear things funny

getting mixed opinions here and that's good!!!! don't trust the *******'s opinion on a **** thing. hell, they still don't know how to grease the front drive shaft!!!! any way I had to change beds on my heavy duty truck. seems as though it wasn't all that heavy duty(the bed). the truck's fine. it's the bed that's not up to snuff. I put a steel flat bed on it I bought from a junk yard. don't have to worry now about scarring anything up. just want a bigger paw on the back and taller gearing(6 sp. ya know). still a pretty truck; n/k. if I have to put 315's on the front,I will.
