Well gosh Hoss, some guys that buy these trucks traded in an M5 Beemer for them and that sort of info isn't mission critical or we're just too naive to ask.
I knew I wanted a Cummins diesel for mileage, four doors for the family and the ability to haul my quad and 4000 lb boat around. Please forgive us white collar types our stupidity.

The 2500/3500 issue has gotten a little skewed with the advent of the single rear wheel 3500. Here's what you should know before you buy. All three SRWs(Single rear wheel) and the DRW(Dual rear wheel) have full floating rear ends; thats one main reason they're heavy duty. Second, 2500 SRW vs 3500 SRW is 10.5 ring gear vs 11.5 ring gear. You'll probably blow a tire or bend the frame before you damage rear end. 3500 (Real one ton) will hold massive weight with 4 truck tires in rear. If you putt the truck around alot and don't pull alot of weight then get a 2500, it may be easier on registration fees, and is easier to park without dual rear wheels.
