2WD Leveling Kit
Has anyone ever installed a leveling kit for a 2006 2wd and how difficult was it?
Also what is max height? I have seen some kits for 05 that are 1" 1.5" & 2".
I just want to bring the nose up a little so I was thinking of the 1.5 spacers.
Thanks
JIM

There is debate on what leveling kit to use. Most people go with the 1.5" but a few go with 2.5". I called daystar themselfs and asked the pro's and cons of each. He said that the 1.5" does almost nothing to the steering, just a alignment and your good to go. If you go for the 2.5" you need new shocks and there is a possablility that your front end will not align and you can get the death wobble, but there are some people that run 2.5" and have no problems. Me personally, I got a 2WD just for that reason, I am not wanted to run 35" tires or i would of gotten a 4WD. I went the safe way and got the 1.5". Installation - I dont know yet, my 1.5" is in my stocking and cant put it on until christmas, but my friend has a auto shop with lifts and all so I dont think its going to be that hard for me.

Several ways of leveling a 2wd. First is installing the Daystar coil spacer kit like Sevir mentioned. The other way is to remove the spacer blocks on the rear axle.

I have looked at different spacers and daystar seems to have the most available but they only go to 05 and mine is a 06 so I am not sure if they are they same. I got rid of a 03 with the 2" spacer kit and had 315's and did not have the death wobble and didnt get the front end aligned-----so I guess I was one of the lucky ones . I would like to get rid of the nose down look that Dodge has and was thinking of the 1.5" kit. I have thought about the rear blocks but I tow a TT and wouldnt want it to low when towing.

I saw a nice 3500 dually yesterday that was pulling a long trailer (construction) It looked as if it was lowered in the front about an inch and it was level. Maybe because it was loaded. It was a 6 spd and sounded excellent pulling away and working. It looked really good IMO. The automatics just don't sound good. 1.5 inches is a good lift. But get an alignment after. Search on this site much information on the 2wd lifts.

Just saw this thread........mine is in the shop having the front coils replaced and I'm having them install the 1.5" Daystar lift. The 2.5" would have been to much when towing. The rear would have been lower than the front. Will post pics when I ge the truck back.
