285's, Firestone or Mich
Going to bump the tire size to 285's as many do here. I see and hear that Firestone Destination AT's are rated high as they have a E load rating. I was going to go with the Mich's LTX-MS2's D rated, a new size for it. Now I just don't know now. I just don't want noise. Any suggestions?

I run the Firestone`s, I am happy with them. They balanced up with VERY little weight, and the road force variation was near zero (we have a Hunter GSP9000 at my job) and they run very true. Cant weigh in on wear/mileage as they only have about a thousand miles on em so far.

Nitto Dura grapplers are quiet, have good wear and good grip in the wet. They aren't a mud tire, but are better than the original Michelin lt-whatevers. They come in 10-ply (E) and in 285/70 or 285/75 if you want a bit taller tire.
Using my smarty ABS setting as a reference, and setting the speedo with a GPS, here are the diameters:
Michelin LTX A/S 265/70-17 30.00"
Nitto Dura Grappler 285/70-17 31.10"
Nitto Dura Grappler 285/75-17 32.05"

Thanks for all the replies. Good to see we all agree, LOL. If I wasn't confused before, I am now. Lucky I don't have to decide quickly or I would have to use the dart board choosing method. The most the truck is loaded is 800 in the bed and 7500 for the TT. Must have E's??? or 3100 lb D's OK at 65psi?

I've even aired them down to around 25-30psi front when in some deep snow and they didn't drive too bad back to teh house afterwards. Wouldn't want to go 80mph around a curve like that though!

Been running BFG TA KO's in range "D" since November 2007. They look new, barely any road noise, fantastic traction, and have almost 25k on them.
I hardly tow with that truck since it's the wife's rig. She swears by these tires due to Idaho not plowing the roads like we're used to in NW Indiana. Lots of packed snow turning into ice patches on the roads here when it does snow, and she's used them get out of the way of idiot drivers entering intersections too fast for conditions.
