2006 Wait to Start Light

Hey guys, been lurking here a couple of weeks, but this is my first post.

I just picked up my 2006. I noticed the "Wait to Start" light does not light up with the rest of the instrument light when I first turn the key to the on position. It has not been cool enough for the heater to cycle, but I was wondering if this was normal, or should the light be cycling with the rest of the dash lights. I was wondering if this was changed for 06, or do I need to take my truck in?

Thanks in advance!

Does it come on at all when you turn the key on?

On my '03 Dodge, the "wait to start" light came on every time I started the truck. I also recently upgraded to the '06 and have noticed the "wait to start" light does not always come on. Usually in the mornings, the light will come on for a few seconds. For the rest of the day however, the light does not come on at all. I've taken this to mean everything is alright, and it only comes on when needed. I could be wrong, but I believe it's working fine.

Same here. On my '06, the wait-to-start doesn't light up unless it is needed. I'm assuming no worries.....

Fill in your signiture and location, that'd help.
Here in California it hasn't been cold enough for the light to come on in the afternoon 85 but it does in the morning 60.

Sorry, I thought I included a signature. And no, I have not seen it come on at all. Location is Central Texas--It has not been cool enough for the heater to actually cycle.

Yep, that's how mine works also. Th light on the '03 came on almost every time I started it. The '06 only lights up on first starts on cool mornings or evenings.

That must be a change for the 06 model year. My 04.5 truck's "wait to start" light comes on every time........cold, hot, whatever. Course it goes off fairly quickly when warm....and cycles much longer if it is cool or cold.

That was why was concerned about it. The 05 I just traded in, it came on every time, with the light check. This new one, it does not.

It's good...really, really good. I saw some dirt on it, I think I'll go treat it to a wash.

I start plugging it in when it begins to consistently go below 0*C in my unheated garage.
