2006 TSB's
Hi guys,
Just got a 2006 2500 SB, Cummins of course!! I just went over a thousand miles and am getting no more than 11 miles per gallon. My 03 did much better than this. Do I need that TSB I read about about for 04-05. Thanks. I love this site!! My wife thinks I'm sick spending hours on here. Later.

Another question.... My 03 was a 6-spd and when the clutch engaged the engine was louder. My 06' auto in park or neutral is quiet, but when in gear at a drive thru or whatever it is really loud! Have you noticed this at all?

So it should be that loud in gear? I guess I'm paranoid for trading in my 03, bad karma or something that truck was perfect for 45k I just wanted an auto and leather and such. Thanks again for the reply. I've been reading on here forever. Just now posting. This site rocks!

MAKE SURE YOU RUN ADEQUATE TIRE PRESSURE. I put that in bold because it's that important, especially on the front tires. When I had my '04.5 dually, raising the pressure from 55 to 80 psi (the max recommended) improved my mileage by 2.5 mpg. No kidding-just that change did it, confirmed through several tanks at both pressures. Since your 2500 is a srw, I'd recommend putting about 70 psi or so in the rears, since they don't carry as much weight empty as the fronts. I do not recommend putting less than the max in the front tires on these trucks-they just carry too much weight.

Thats for MAX load in the REAR! Not a truck made(2500 or 3500) or tires 16 or 17s even HINTS to 80 psi in the FRONTS.Never have! Read the warnings.Unloaded 80psi makes EVERY jolt in the road transmit through to my teeth.I don't run 80 with a 10k gooseneck trailer hooked up.Its for MAX weight in the bed.I did run 80 (REARS ONLY)in my 2500 SRW pulling 10k in high heat conditions.
