2006 California Diesel Emissions

What exactly is the CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS option on 2006 ram trucks?

1 - Does it do anything to SLOW down the truck - HP/TORQUE??

2 - What NEGATIVE effects will the CALIF. EMISSIONS play versus a NON-California emissions option??

I believe it is just certification that it meets standards as the trucks are 50 state compliant. It should be just a sticker under the hood.

2004.5 through 2006 are 50 state approved.

As an added plus...you still don't have to get diesels smogged in California unlike Colorado. Saves you about $50+ in smog certification fees!

In 2007 and on I wouldn't think any state would still require a diesel smog test since they will burn ULSD and will be evern more EPA friendly engines with particulate traps, EGR, etc.
