2006 6spd fuel mileage

I'm just wondering what kind of fuel mileage you guys with the 2006 trucks and with the manual transmission are getting. I know that they are probably not broken in yet but I'm just curious how they're doing. The one I tried out at the dealership was only showing 12mpg but it was still tight with only 56 miles on it.
Also is this new manual tranny more noisy than the old one? I noticed that it seems makes of lot more gear noise than the I had expected.

Thanks,
Scott

I have the G56 six speed which is in the 2006's. I'm getting 18 around town and as high as just over 22 when I'm cruising on the highway. My G56 makes lots of noise in 3rd and 5th gears currently. It can also be heard grumbling in neutral.

Well since it's alot colder up here now and I believe the stations are running #1 now, I've dropped down to 15.5 on my last tank (hand calculated). My overhead seems to run about 1 - 2 MPG lower than actual. I've only got a little over 2k on mine so it's far from broke in. Best tank was 18.42 MPG (so far)...

I test drove a new 6 speed about 3 weeks ago. The tranney shifted really smoth compared to my old truck. The only thing that scared me was the 2300 rpm's I was turning at interstate speed. The truck had 3.73's on it. From what I see the milage is not that bad. I may have to reconsider.

Remember, if it's only been 56 miles and reading 12, it probably hasn't seen much highway. If you hit the highway you'd see it climb. If you took it for another 50 miles @ 65, I bet it would climb so I wouldn't let the 12 scare you.

I'd tell you my 05 NV5600 is getting 18.261 after 5K, but that isn't going to help you.
