2005 Waranty
Hey Guys , I just purchased a 05 with 68,900 ... It was fine til this afternoon , ran out to lunch and the check engine light came on .
Truck is running fine ... I don't have a scanner , not sure which direction I should go . I am the 2nd owner , from the reading I did I could possibly transfer the 7/70 but is going t cost me 150 or more . Then I may consider taking a extended .
The truck just had the trans and converter replaced , waterpump was done also .
Sucks when this happens after you have not had the truck a week .
Any thoughts ?
Found how to get the code out ... P0237 ? I'm going to go look for it .
I was just talking to the guy I got the truck from ... He said he just had 2 sensors replaced ... i would assume one was a map .
Any thing I should look for ?
Whats the best way to clear a code ?
Thank

Many auto parts stores allow you to rent scan tools (they let you "buy" it and immediately return it). The scan tool lets you read and clear the DTC. Once you have the DTC, do a search (or refer to the service manual), and follow the troubleshooting for that DTC.

I know from all the reading I am going to need a reader to do anything on these trucks .

The MAP connection may have just not been on tight enough and some moisture got in there. Try unhooking it, cleaning things up, and reinstall it making sure you push it all the way down firmly...
I only had to pay $50 to transfer the full warranty to my truck. Well worth it when I'm putting my truck in for over $1000 worth of repairs right before the warranty runs out.....
