Are 2005 -2009 beds interchangable?

Are 2005 -2009 beds interchangable? What would you do in this situation?
I may change the bed on my 2005 2500 CTD Long Bed. I hit the d/s corner of the bumper and got the corner of the quarter and creased over the rear wheel. The bumpers on these trucks do more harm than good.

I found a 2006-2009 new take off in black that is clean and a short road trip away. I can paint at home to Lt Almond Pearle. The body shop wants $1200 to repair the quarter with paind and me removing the bed liner and rear bumper. The new bed is $1200 and about $50 bucks for me to paint it.
What would you do?

I think they're the same but if I'm reading this correctly, you're going to spend more money to get the black one and then have to paint it yourself? Don't know what your level of skill is but wouldn't the body shop be able to get a closer match and still leave $50 in your pocket?

I would definitely get mine repaired, unless I found a perfect replacement that had factory paint on it in the right color.

I have a neighbor that can paint it in my garage. The problem around here is the rust from salt and the evidence of repair from the inside. If I fix the box there will be some grinding and bondo use at a cost of $1200. If I replace the quarter ($900-$1200 for the part)they will be drilling out welds and seams at a total cast of $2500.
If I get the black 2006-2009 new take off for $1200, paint the outside and spray in a bed liner the inside then paint match being slightly off is far better than the rust from salt and bondo falling off.
What to do?

I know either choice would be a concern for you with such a new truck, but my belief is that modern bodywork, if done properly, is a durable lifetime repair. If you put one little crease or dent in the replacement box during transport or installation then you will end up with bodyfiller in that one too.
