The diesel Ram fuel tank has an upward bulge at the rear that does not fill with fuel in normal use. Seems to be intended for fuel expansion or some such thing. Dave's vent kit replaces the factory vent with one at the top of the tank's bulge. This allows quick, complete fill. My SB quad '04 tank is factory rated at 34 gallons. I have Dave's vent kit and have personally put in 37 gallons and was NOT empty. Probably close, but not empty. This extra capacity causes problems for the overhead computer with the DTE figure. Mine doesn't move until I've put about 100 miles on a tank. Neither does the fuel level guage. I've had Dave's vent kit on my truck since March of '04. Had no problems with it at all. Installation does require dropping the tank. I had some reservations about doing that, but I'm tool handy although not a pro. I had no problems with the job.
There are other vendors with vent kits now, but I recommend Dave. It was his idea and he was first with 'em. Besides, he is in it as a part timer, not a big business, so I like to recommend him.
