Just heard the commercial again, it applies to gas and diesel, but the disclaimer at the end says it does not apply to SRT, Viper, or Cummins diesel trucks....

I was at the dealer with my buddy that's buying an 08 diesel, it does apply to diesels. You have the choice of $2500 rebate or 2.99 fuel for 3 years. If you save $1 per gallon, which would be paying only 3.99 for diesel, you would save $3000 in 3 years, so net $500 in your pocket over the rebate. If diesel prices shoot up even more...then it's an even better deal. My buddy chose the 2.99 fuel

we talked to our dealer and he has found a way for us to trade in the 07 for the same truck(except it'll be automatic this time) and keep the same payment we have now. If all that stays true until we sign papers, I think we get a pretty good deal. I just hope the 6.7 doesn't let me down.

Didn't the commercial say that you have to put in on a credit card of some sort??? Sounds bad to me. whats the interest on that? that could be a financial disaster for some people.

The Wall Street Journal car guy did the math and said take the cash, 0% financing.

Besides, as far fetched as it may seem, diesel could and probably will come down in price.

I pay the fuel bill off every month and have for the entire time I've been using cards to pay for fuel. The way it sounds nobody thinks I can benefit from this. Its going to be hard now because my wife thinks she is getting a new truck.

If you use your credit card for fuel purchases the proper way you pay no interest. Pay the bill at the end of the month. Just because you put it on a credit card doesn't mean you buy more fuel than you can afford to payoff at the end of the month.

^^^^^Here is the problem.

Some can do this... MOST can't.

Guys, I can and do pay the card off every month.

Is this a good deal or bad deal? same payment trading 07 5.9 for 08 6.7 w/ $2.99 diesel for 3 years. As long as the mileage doesn't eat me up after the cheaper fuel wears off I don't see how I can go wrong.

I have no idea. I was interested to note that the motor they put in those things is by the same manufacturer, VM Motori, that LandRover use a few years ago for a diesel motor.

If they can't then they have no business having a credit card of any type.
