1.5" Leveling kit installed (update pics)
Got my 1.5" leveling kit installed yesterday. Very disappointed. Did a search before i bought these things and made sure it would take most of the rake out of the truck, It didnt! depending on what type of ground it sits on, sometimes it looks stock and sometimes i can notice its up a little bit but not what was expected. I think they should of made 2" for the truck. I have seen 2.5" spacers and they overdue the rake. As per the install, it was pretty simple. Needed alot of PB Blaster!! lots of rust on almost all the bolts. All that needed to be done is take the shocks out, disconnect the crossmember and tie rod. Disconnect the control arm and there you have it! I have pics on my dig camera and when i get back home I will have them posted.
Edit: Dont disconnect the crossmember, i meant the anti-sway bar.
***EDIT*** Pics on second page!!!!!

Hmmm. If you tow heavy the 1.5" might be the ticket since you still have some rake. With the heavy loaded trailer mine will just about sit level. I'm looking at installing the 1" or 1.5" Daystar coil spacers depending on the pics of your setup.

I would think that actually measuring the fenderwell height, jacking the frame up, remeasuring at 1.5" more, would have given you a more actual depiction of what you were to gain...before opening your wallet.
With all my towing, any more than 1.5" would have me feel like I am riding uphill- I am interested..who makes this 1.5 kit you speak of?

I used a floor jack to lift my truck 1-1/2" and 2-1/2", the two sizes offered by Daystar. I went with the 1-1/2" because the larger lift raised the truck too close to even, and when I get my 3 inches of sag with the trailer loaded the truck would be raked toward the rear. I'm having the coil springs replaced under the recall and their installing the spacers for me. Will post pics when I get the truck back.

the 2wd and 4wd are very differant. You can tell just by looking at the pic of each on JC whitneys web page. I called Daystar themselfs and asked if they made the 2wd 1.5" kit for the 04+ and its the same as the 03. they havnt updated there web page yet. I have pics pending for approval to show yall the before and after with the 1.5" on a 2wd 04.5. As I said in my orig post. it depends on what level ground my truck is sitting on, sometimes it looks good, but sometimes it just looks stock.
